I Almost Gave Up

Does anybody out there other than me have an ISP provider known as Starband???? It is one of the two satellite internet providers, and I've been having nothing but trouble with them for over a month now. I'll get an entire entry typed in and then in will crap out and I'll lose everything. I obviously had gotten fed-up with it and given up, but that is not fair to my blog. So, I'll keep trying to post.

So much has happened in the past month that I feel my ISP problems aren't even worth mentioning, but I just wanted to let everyone know why I haven't been posting. I'll start making sure I do it from school if I can get logged in from there. I should be able too though because blogs have become a big deal in academia.

My prayers go out to all who have suffered from Katrina and/or Rita. New Orleans is a strong willed community and will pull through this.

As for the "project" this blog is all about, I have completed a conference paper for the Pop Culture/American Culture Association of the South confernce in Jacksonville, FL the first weekend in October. It is an analysis of the first constitution of the Motor Maids and what it says about the group as it began.

Other research is going well. I am taking a Comtemporary Women's Lit course and American Lit. from 1860-1910, the realist/naturalist period. Both classes have really interesting reading and A LOT of writing. Another reason it is difficult to keep up like I would like to on this blog.
